A: For your case, the best place to stay is Aali. There are plenty of compounds there and it is a 5 minutes drive to St. Christopher's school. I live in Riffa, it's a nice area too but I doubt you'll find any compunds. Living in Manama can be expensive, but who wants to live there anyway. Aali is a quiet area, and if you need to go to Manama, it should not take you more than 15 minutes (peak time).
