Q: nightlife and shopping.
A: well there are plenty of malls over there now like A'ali and Seef.you can spend hours just walking in the streets of Manama if you want to go shopping.there are plenty of small shops which sell almost everything on this planet.the small antique shops are the best.if you're interested in the culture you can visit the usual tourist spots like the tree of life,arad fort,the portugese fort,the burial mounds,aali pottery village and ofcourse the museum.zallaq and marina beaches are fun and you can go bowling and skating at the rink near the marina.there are plenty of places you can go play snooker as well.im not sure about nightlife although you can check out some of the good hotels(like the Ramada and gulf hotel)to see if they have discos.
