Q: im going there tomorrow and was wondering how it is there

A: I lived in Bahrain for a little over a year and prior to that had visited it many times as my sister lived there for 10 years. It's a great place to meet people from all over the world. One of the other people who answered has given you a basic idea of some places to visit. There is a great night life and every hotel is equipped with fantastic (but expensive) restaurants. It depends on what you like to do as to what will interest you. There are 2 malls, Seef and Geant. Both are great but expensive. There are numerous places to do many water sports, including the aforementioned Hawar Island. You can take a boat from near the Grand Mosque and it's about a 30 min ride. You could also tour the Grand Mosque (quite amazing) you can ride camels, play golf on one of wierdest golf courses (PGA course though) you can go to the yacht club, visit one of many classic english pubs where trivia nights are a blast. As also previously mentioned, you can go to the Souk, including the Gold souk, where gold and precious gems are a lot cheaper than here. The ground floor of the gold souk has 22ct gold, the 2nd floor has 18ct gold and top is silver and some gold shops. Great coffee in the centre restaurant and the best freshly squeezed juice you will ver find in the stores behind the Souk. Be prepared for the craziness you will find there and everyone trying to sell you anything including mosque clocks. Great place to have clothes tailor made (very nice copy suits if you have the time). Everyone speaks English so you'll be fine and traffic is crazy because all the Saudi's come over for the day or night!! Weekend is Thursday/Friday but they were thinking about changing that to Fri/Sat. All offices are closed on Fridays and many businesses that don't cater to tourists also. Have a great time! I loved my time there.
