Is the night life in Bahrain good?

Q: Is there entertainment for gentlemen in Bahrain?

A: BARS Best bars in Bahrain are: (1) Sherlock Holmes in Gulf Hotel. This bar was relocated into brand-new premises in 2006. The new bar is more plush than the old one but lacks character. It is jumping at weekends though. It has 3 pool tables and a live band most nights. (2) JJs Irish Bar in the Al Bustan Hotel - ladies drink free six nights a week for only BD2 entry. They also have weekly karaoke and quizes. The bar is always packed as it is next door to Bahrain's hottest nightclub, BJs. They have a happy hour till 8pm and lots of visiting bands on special occasions. This bar is so successful that it gets too busy at weekends (3) Wrangler in the Elite Hotel, Juffair is very popular with Americans on the nearby Navy base. The do a great free buffet on Wed from 8-10pm, at which time all drinks are only 500fils. The ladies nights are also packed - ladies drink free on Sun and Tue. (4) The Warbler - a great sports bar with an excellent menu. They show several sports at once, and also have drinks promotions. Their pub grub is the best on the island. NIGHT CLUBS There are literally hundreds of night clubs in Manama. To find out if anything unusual is happening, check out the gulf daily news at its web site: www.gulf-daily-news.com You can choose to go at a regular place like BJ's, Diggers or Warblers. Wich most people would recommend. But i say, why not do something, you can't do at home. So try out one of the night clubs (arabic, indian or russian) up to you. Arabic is obviously better since you get a taste of the arabic culture unlike the russian where they pretty much just rip you off. They're placed around the hotels, one i liked particular is the one at Elite Hotel in Juffair. Really cool atmosphere, big band etc. etc. Ofcourse no shorts allowed MOVIES The other option is going to the movies. You'll get the timings in the gulf daily newspaper everyday. Or you can check it out on the web at: www.inet.com.bh and then go to the left hand side of the page where it says 'movies'. If you can get to the cinema at Saar, then go there. It's much easier for parking and the screens are bigger. There's also less people, and therefore less mobile phones ringing during the movie. Oh and the popcorn is less greasy!
