Q: Hi, I have a Job offer in Bahrain in Information Tech area. My wife is also a IT consultant (ERP Testing) and will be looking for a Job there. How is the Job market in Bahrain. Are there enough jobs in IT (ERP or Quality Assurance). Do the companies consider foreign nationals equally with Bahraini citizens for Job opportunities? Any information in this regard is appreciated
A: Don't bother looking for a job in Bahrain in the IT domain. There are hardly any jobs in Testing or in QA. IT jobs in the Gulf are mostly dead end support kind of jobs. You'll get burnt out after 6 months if you try working in Bahrain. No foreign nationals are definitely not considered equally with Bahrainis. There is always pressure on the govt to give jobs to locals rather than foreign nationals.
