Q: According to press accounts ( try BBC Online) they attack them and try to tear off their Crucifixes and spit on them. May we wonder the U.S. is supporting this government,or why it should be the guardian of what is the Holy Land to 2 billion Christians and almost as many Muslims? WE lived there in peace with Muslims for 1500 years,but obviously things have changed under zionism. Opinions?
A: Actually,even in Syria - which is 15% Christian - the Syrian and Armenian Orthodox Chruches are left alone. In Israel attacks on the Armenian community in Jerusalem have been going on for years; they hold a lot of property that the government is trying to pressure them to sell,so although the attacks are by yishuv students,you get the impression this is tacitly occured by the government. They definately want Christians out. And to think this government is subsidized by a largely Chrsitan patron-state - the U.S. All Christians are forbiiden to teach their religion.
