Q: I have a friend marrying a kenyan man in kenya, however she is british does anyone know what lience they need and how to get it,her groom is going home first can he apply on her behalf or does she do it from here, urgent replies needed,if your kenyan please help
A: Hi there. Your friend will need a Certificate of no Impediment to verify that she is not already married. This can be obtained from a Registry Office in the UK, for a small fee.She should also take certified copies of her passport and birth certificate (a Notary can certify them. I got a Justice of the Peace at my local City Chambers - no cost) Then they will need to visit the Registrar in Kenya to organise a time/date etc and so the Registrar can verify the paperwork. Her hubby to be will need his birth certificate and his Kenyan ID. I think that's it. Good luck to them and their married life!
