A: If she is traveling with other people I wouldn't worry too much. After all, it's dangerous just about anywhere you go in the world if you don't watch out for yourself. You can always check the US government travel sites that give warnings about locations in the world that are currently more "hot" than others. I am assuming she is American but I may be wrong... but I don't recall hearing anything about Madagascar in the news that would make me assume it's not safe to travel to.
