Q: i going to Ghana this summer but i need advice... such as clothing, swimming, malaria, pills shots ?? weather, food, clubs??entertainment?

A: Who are you going with? An organized program? If yes, I'm sure they will give you a list of things to take or not to take. Definitely get the shots and anti-malarias suggested. The US government says to do this: http://wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/destinationGhana.aspx Ghana is HOT in the summer, so bring clothes that can breathe. Dresses are usually more comfy than pants when it's really really hot (if you're female) and far more culturally acceptable than shorts (the colonial powers required Africans to wear shorts during their rule, so African adults don't like to wear them still - they are demeaning). Bring a couple of cute outfits, too, not just long flowy things - people dress well in Africa in general, so you don't want to look like a bum if you don't have to. There are some beaches in Ghana on the coast, so it couldn't hurt to bring a swim suit, if you'll be near the coast. You should bring some water sterilization pills - just in case you end up in a place where you don't feel comfortable drinking the water and buying bottled water isn't an option. I'd get either iodine based pills like Potable Aqua, or get a Steripen (steripen.com). There's loads and loads of live music and dancing and fun stuff like that throughout Africa, so it might depend specifically where you're going. But you'll have fun - just living in Africa the first time around is entertainment enough.
