Q: hi , my wife & i are looking at going to senegal for a holiday & i've a few questions i hope someone can answer. 1.what's the weather like in august. i see it's the rainiest month but is this short heavy downpours or more constant day long rain. 2.what is the resort of saly like. 3.what's the hotel espadon like. 4.what's it like outside the hotel. is it safe to walk about on an evening or are you constantly being pestered. 5.what's the local food like & is alcohol available(just beer & wine not the hard stuff). thanks for all genuine answers. please don't bother leaving stupid comments.

A: 1.It alters between short heavy downpours and longer rainy spells 2. Like most resorts in Senegal quite nice , Hotels are ok, food is good, only the locals are a bit pestering, sea was quite polluted 3. Have not stayed there but here is a comment of a visitor in english : http://www.tripadvisor.de/ShowUserReviews-g488113-d604324-r15057883-Hotel_Espadon_de_Saly-Mbour_La_Petite_Cote.html 4. Generally , the locals are quite some pests and do not take NO for an answer. Apart from the harassment it was safe enough though 5. Local food is fabulous, I recommend Tjoff Thiboudienne, a type of tuna stuffed with spices, braised and served with a rice platter. The local beer- Flag - is quite good, the wine is common fare but drinkable
