Q: I can only find bits and pieces of info on the country itself. Kurdistan has long been at war with Turkey, but I would like to know what dangers lie in Iraqi Kurdistan.
A: Arbil is safe, it's not dangerous at all. Go for it. There is no war between Iraqi Kurds and Turkey, the conflict is between Turkish Kurds who are hiding in the mountains in the Turkey-Iraq border, the conflict doesn't affect Kurdish cities in Iraq because it's no where near the mountainous border region where most of the fighting is.
