Q: ok am gooing to Nigeria for like 2 moth are there somethings that i should know

A: You could start by knowing which state/ town in Nigeria. If you're going to Lagos, these are a few things you should know. Everyone acts like their in a hurry, somehow with the mad pace, very little seems to get done. Nigerians have a very bad sense of timing and are always late for events/meetings. Give an extra hour to any time stipulated. Even when they tell you it'll take a mere extra 5 mins, translate that to mean 25 mins. Try to limit your purchasing to the supermarket untill you get the hang of buying things from the locals. The price of anything you wish to buy from a local is usually between half and a third of the stated price. Same goes for taxis. Always Bargain! Contrary some peoples belief, there's no special kind of greeting all over Nigeria (there are over 200 languages spoken) hence the use of english. When dealing with locals you may need to understand the corrupt form of english (pigeon english). Here are a few: oyibo - white man (Caucasian), pikin - child, wayo - tricks, wetin- what, I don pay you-I have paid you, no shaking- no problem. The greetings are the same in english. hope it helps
