A: No. There are a couple beaches near Monrovia but the slope doesn't make for good swimming. The war has destroyed a lot of the infrastructure. If you are forced to go to Liberia, my advice would be to get some Club Beer during the day and stay in your room at night drinking the beer. Hopefully you'll have electricty to keep the beer cold, if not get some ice (if you can find it) to keep the beer cold. Having said that, I must confess that the best vacation I ever had was in Liberia. Was a unique once in a lifetime chance to visit some people in the country--some people had never seen a white man or even electricity.
