Q: Hello when leaving Nigeria is there a fee called "basic Travelers Allowance" the amount $1,000.00 dollars to any visitor exiting the country. There is a young lady there that keeps tell me this as well as her pass port has expired there and the cost of exiting the country is 1,400.00. Now I know this all seems like a lot of money and is this a scam to take funds from me. A: Dude, its a complete scam. I had a Nigerian visitor this year several times already. The passport costs about $70 to renew, and there is no such thing as a BTA.
