A: It may depend on which country you visit in Africa and which kind of phone you are using. In some African countries usually you have to buy a Sim card when you land, due to different signal you get. However, in South Africa you can get vodacom, which is the South African version of Vodafone. I have looked and it seems that if you have a tri-band or quad- band phone it should change automatically.
