Are there environmental survivalists in South Africa?

Q: People who believe that with the dwindling oil supplies, the world is destined for an economic crash, shortage of fuel and food etc: http://green.yahoo.com/news/ap/20080524/ap_on_re_us/environmental_survivalists.html Well said, Lise K.

A: Well Cakes when was oil discovered to be useful as fuel? Not 100 years ago, and it seems in the last 100 years we have nearly used up all the natural resources, polluted the water, over fished the oceans, chopped out most of the wood in the worlds indigenous forests etc. How much coal is left I wonder? I think especially now here in SA with the electricity crisis people have become more "energy" or alternative energy conscious, just a pity most of the generators or rather all of them only use diesel or petrol as fuel. But a lot of people have put in solar paneled water heaters etc. It is quite scary, hey? If the oil is finished, it is finished. and then what? I believe, perhaps I am wrong, that the reason why the oil prices are so expensive is that the Middle eastern oil producers know that their oil is dwindling and know that they must get the most money possible now for their oil, because lets face it with out oil they have nothing else to sell. I know of one family, a white family, that started up their old AGA coal stove, use paraffin lamps and have a wood fired "donkey" to heat their water up, but not because they are environmental survivalists but because they are poor and cannot afford electricity any more.....we were asked for donations to help this family, but strictly speaking they are environmental survivalists?
