What's the difference between a belief and an opinion?

Q:

A: I think the largest difference btwn an opinion and a belief is that you can easily change your opInion, on a whim if you want. However, a belief has to be steadfastly held, meaning i cant just chop and change my beliefs as i would with my opinions. In fact, if you find that an opinion you held is demonstratably false, then you would do well to change that opinion. The same cannot be said of belief (also remember that a belief cannot be reasoned out; it must be taken on faith; you dont have to prove a belief is true/false, you just have to believe). EG: Belief:"I look good in Yellow" Opinion 1: "I look good in Reeboks" Opinion 2: "I also look good in Nikes". A simple glance in a mirror would be enough to tell me that yellow actually looks terrible on me, however as i believe it looks good on me, i discount that evidence, so strong is my belief (to the point where i avoid looking at mirrors). However, i now have two opinions vieing agaisnt each other; i now have to make a reasoned decision as to which i want. Aha! The Nikes are cheaper! Nike it is then. Short answer: Opinions are objective; Belief is subjective.
