Q: I know of a few backward thinking parents who see it fit when their children mock people whose customs and beliefs are different to theirs. I for one am very tolerant to different customs etc and will teach my daughter to be the same and always respect and not mock. It can only make them better people and perhaps prevent them from being social outcasts....
A: Well that is one of the main reasons why apartheid lasted so long. One of the main reasons why there are still wars in the world. Parents pass down their dogmatic attitudes, beliefs and disrespect for other cultures and religions. It sounds harsh and is never mentioned, but the very first and strongest form of propaganda we are exposed to in our lives, normally comes from home and our own parents.
