Is this the reason why Africa stays poor?

Q: In a question from yesterday I mentioned a job offer in SA. The terms of the contract is as such now after discussions this morning. My money will be payed into a foreign bank account. The SA tax man will not see it. I will get an allowance for food and hotels and a company car to use when staying or visiting SA. The funny thing is, if it was not for AA policies, I would have still done the same job living in SA and spending my earnings in SA. But now the SA companies do not have similar skills available in SA and need an International company to give advice. Guess who work for this company? Me, the person they originally drove out with their AA policies and it will cost them roughly three times more.

A: Darth - Forget about Africa and all their self created problems. Look after yourself.Given these terms take the job and build up a nice nest egg in REAL currency. From what you say it seems like you will spend time outside of SA as well so many of your needs must be met. This way of operating is probably the only reason why many South African Companies can compete and survive. In fact they probably cost into the job having one of these useless Furbees for show purposes with the real money going to the person who actually does it.
