A: To whom did the Africans bring their sick children and old people, before there were hospitals for them, ? They would bring them to the Madam. Before, when I was young boy living on our farm, I remember many times, a delegation of Africans who lived on the land, coming to the farm house to see either my mother or my father and no matter what they wanted if it was posible they received it, if not then no one went away empty handed. When a school opened up on an adjacent farm and the black kids wanted to go, their parents came to our door looking for money to buy school uniforms and books and pencils, but sometimes, most of the time, there was little money, so my mom would get out the old singer and make khaki shotr and shirts for the boys and little smocks for the girls and there was all ways hand me downs from my boeties and me, no daughters, but we all ways helped. When my father died, over 200 Africans came to pay their respects to him with their spears and shields and the chief was dressed in his traditional lepard skin robes, they asked if they could escort him to the our little grave yard where they sang for him. and we were not the exception to the rule, by no means.
