Q: 13 August was said to have been reserved for a general workers strike against the petrol price... How big is it and did it affect you at all? I am sorry for the date mistake... I really meant 6 August Wednesday

A: Looks like its going to be pretty big- if memory serves me, COSATU strikes usually are. Last night on the news they said they are expecting significant holdups in the public sector. They even made contingency plans so that hospitals and other vital services are running- but this will still probably result in some chaos! So if you want my advice, don't plan on doing your shopping or banking today! At least this is the first time I'm actually agreeing with COSATU's reasons... prices are really getting out of hand. Not sure if it'll change anything though. Fingers crossed!
