Q: What is one's right in South Africa regarding barking dogs in the neighborhood? We have got this Doberman on the property next to us who he seems very lonely which he compensates with barking. I'm not talking about the occasional bark, I'm talking about endless anxiety barking, especially in the evening hours or when the owner is not at home, which is quite often. We are new to this neighborhood and I don't really want to start an issue already with my neighbor and I will obviously talk to him first before going to the next step. But if it comes to worst, what are my rights?

A: If you contact the SPCA they will assist by sending out an inspector - they are very good http://www.spca-ct.co.za
