Q: I've heard there were three professional orchestras in South Africa. I know the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra and the Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra, but I can't find what the third one is. Can someone help me out. I'm curious because I'm a musician and interested in playing there.
A: There are a number of professional orchestras in South Africa - many more than three! but The big three (my opinion) The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra and The KNZ Philharmonic Orchestra - http://www.kznpo.co.za/ There is a Association of Professional Orchestras of South Africa (APOSA) - someone there may be able to give you more detailed information. They are not so easy to find on google.com - too many American ones get in the way but I would imagine that http://www.google.co.za or http://www.ananzi.co.za would probably help you find others.
