Dear Tunisianbelle, futher questions on electricity / water / Internet / education?

Q: Dear Tunisianbelle, thank you for answering my previous question. But I want to be sure if: 1."electricity and water together cost 100DT every 3 month", "Internet 80DT for a 6 months plan" are all based on "one person's" or "per household's" consumption? 2. If I don't need any air conditioning installed, just the fan would be fine; then the expenditure on electricity will not exceed "electricity and water together cost 100DT every 3 month"? 3. Similarly, if there is no washing machine, then the expenditure on electricity will not exceed "electricity and water together cost 100DT every 3 month"? If so, what's the best way to clean my laundry? And how much would it cost per person? 4. I've checked the courses in "INSTITUT BOURGUIBA DES LANGUES VIVANTES". But I'm a bit suspicious of the tuition. It sounds too cheap: 120DT for an 80-hour course. Do you think it's true? Or any suggestion on this? I need a student VISA to stay. So this is very important to me. Thank you! Qing

A: 1. Yes, my answer was for both of them together. They will each come in separate bills, but the cost of them together should be around 100TDN a month depending on your usage. 2. If you do not use an air conditioner, but still use a fan, your electricity may increase due to how much you use the fan. The electricity bill is determined by how much electricity you use. 3. If you do not use a washing machine the electricity may not increase. Depending on how much water you use when washing laundry by hand will determine if your water bill increases or not. When doing laundry, do not leave the water running (this also goes for whatever you do. For example, when in the shower, turn the water off when soaping up so as not to waste it.) Use a big bucket, get your clothes wet, pour in your laundry detergent, let the clothes soak for a while, then launder them. After you scrub them, empty the bucket, then fill it with clean water and rinse your clothes. You may have to rinse your clothes twice to get out all of the detergent. 4. I think that 120TDN sounds about right for a language course. But you want to be sure that aside from just learning in the school that you go out into the public and utilize what you learn in the classroom to put it to real use. If you do not then you really will not keep the lesson and would have spent money for nothing. As always, if I can be of more help or assistance, please feel free to contact me.
