Traveling to Djerba Tunisia and would like to IM my bf in the U.S.?

Q: from my cell phone using Yahoo Messenger. I have worldwide access on my phone. Is there a time delay in receiving IM's? Is cell use easily obtained there? Has anyone done this? Is it workable?

A: Cell phones are widely used here, so you don't have to worry about coverage. You will be charged a roaming fee from your cell phone provider to use the phone service here in Tunisia though. The price of that will vary depending on who your provider is. I have never sent a message from a cell phone to Yahoo Messenger, and I know that Yahoo does not have it set up so that Yahoo can send messages to cell phones here in Tunisia. I would advise that you go to a publinet (public internet) and use the internet there to send a message. It costs a minimum of .300TDN, and 1.500TDN for an hour. This will allow you to not only send a message to your boyfriend, but surf the web for a while as well, and will most likely save you money. If I can be of any more help or assistance, please feel free to contact me.
