Q: Everyone wants to trick you or to steal your money just when they see you're white. A taxy driver drove us 15 km more just so he can take more money. When we told him that we want to go by the sea when we return (that's the shorter way) he says 'OK' and we saved 5 euros. And everyone thinks they are soooo funny but their jokes are soooo lame. I am sooooo disappointed.
A: That is really a shame. I was a Peace Corps volunteer there in the 80 and thought it was great. Tunisians definitely treat you differently when you are living there and speak Arabic. I found them to be incredibly hospitable people... but I think you are right about the lame jokes!
