Q: Hi can any one tell me how i can rent a cheap flat in Sousse, i have been trying to find the paper La Presse on the internet to look in their classified section but can not find it, if anyone can help it would be great.

A: Sousse is wonderful! Nice beaches, and plenty of places to go and things to do! I live 30 minutes from Sousse - in Monastir. First, renting houses or apartments in the summer months is a LOT more expensive than if you were to rent during the off season. Expect to pay somewhere between 350-500 Dinars a month, plus electricity and water. If you go visit an immobilier (realator) you might be able to find a good deal. Sometimes you get lucky by just driving around and calling numbers listed on the for rent signs you see on houses and in the small shops and markets. If you can read Arabic, try looking in the other papers as well. Most people don't post ads in the papers though because of price. Feel free to ask people that you encounter on the street if they know of anything for rent in that area that you are in. My mother-in-law did that wherever we were when my husband and were first married and needed to rent a house (now we own a house). Sousse is big, so there is ALWAYS something available! Something to remember is to try to negotiate the price. During summer months you don't have as much wiggle room, but it's always worth a shot. Here are a few websites that offer rentals in Sousse, but they aren't cheap, and I'm possative you could get a better price if you were there in person. http://groups.msn.com/rentaltunisia/ http://www.vacationhomerentals.com/vacation-rentals/Sousse-Tunisia.html http://www.escaperental.com/viewproperty.asp?PropertyID=1133 http://www.escaperental.com/viewproperty.asp?PropertyID=4167 http://www.homelidays.com/EN-Holidays-rental/tn/sousse_r20.asp http://www.accommodation-rentals.net/FR/110_Search/SearchList.asp?ADR_PAYS=TN&FROMSEARCH=TRUE&DESTINATION=SOUSSE&EXACT=TRUE If you need anymore help or advice, feel free to contact me.
