tunisian police?

Q: how strict are tunisian police

A: Tunisian Police, at least from my experience, are strict but fair. They take all circumstances into account when following through with reports. At the same time, they will not put up with people breaking the law. There are many police throughout the country, both in uniform and in plain clothes. You will not ever truly know when you are next to a police. Because of this, people think twice before committing crimes. That is why we have so little of it here in the country. Burglary, kidnappings, etc are very rare. I do not know the exact punishments for the crimes, but I do know they are more than just a slap on the wrist (so to speak). Tunisian police are much like the police that you see in France. This is because Tunisia was ruled by France until 1956. Most of our infrastructure (police, courts, governments, etc) take their cue from the European style - mainly the French. Be sure that whatever the situation, the Tunisian police have the best interest of the pubic in mind and are doing their best to keep the country safe.
