Q:

A: It depends on whose shoes you are in. Low paid workers from the Subcontinent will not be hired in California, so you do not have to ask these group of people. Muslim Expats might feel more comfortable working in Dubai than in the US. For Expats from Europe it depends what kind of salary package is offered to them and if they are taxable in the US or back home regarding their orgin country. Guess both countries have their pros and cons. Pro for Dubai is the very low crime rate. I also think that the Labour Law of the UAE is better than the one in the US. Pro for California: if you want to make the US your home country you have a chance to do so and become an American citizen one day. If you buy property it is yours and not only for a 99 years lease like in Dubai. Like I said before, it all depends from whose view you see it. I personally have a better life in the UAE (Abu Dhabi) than I could ever have in California. Might be different for my neighbour. Take care.
