Q: My husband works in Dubai,he lives in karama.he is going to bring me there in a few months. And there are few thingsthat we are concerned about that we have to do before i come there.i have a few questions, and would be very grateful if you could reply to them:- 1.He applied for my visa, and then company told him that the marriage certificate has to be attested from home country(India).its not possible for me to do that, due to some personal reasons. So it has to be done from Dubai. So my husband has found a few people who will do so, but then he recently got information, that some people also cheat you of money in this.So can u plz suggest a place, office or an agent who does this kind of certificate attestation. 2.I wish to learn arabic in dubai-to get a job & also because my husband wants me too,so could u plz suggest if there are private lady tutors or schools or institutes whcih teach arabic(but in a very short duration say-1/2/3 months),in karama. The answers r great Thanks in advan

A: Hi, 1. Please try to manage to have your marriage certificate attested in India. I know a foreign married couple who did not so and they had to get married in the UAE again. The PRO of your husband's company should be able to provide him with proper information. Your husband also might be able to authenticate your marriage certificate by the Indian Consulate in the UAE and then he should attest the same with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 2. Of course you can learn Arabic but that is not necessary to find a job because English is required. Arabic is just an advantage in some kind of jobs. For schools and private tutors please check out their advertisements in the daily: http://www.gulfnews.com and visit the link giving below: http://www.gulfnews.com/uaessentials/residentsguide/getting_started/10081709.html You will be able to pick up a job being under your husband's sponsorship but you will not be able to rent any accomodation on your own. But where is a will there is a way........... If your Embassy here in the UAE does not want or is not able to authenticate your marriage certificate you'll HAVE to do it in India. If the Embassy should be helpfull (I do not know) then your husband should take care of this himself or pay the PRO. That way he can be sure not to be cheated on. Please do not trust any other people. Sorry to say that many Indians are cheating on their own people. In case you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to email me Take care.
