Abu Dhabi food and transportation cost.?

Q: Hi Guys, i've got a job offered to me in Abu Dhabi for Dhs 18000, a more specific question is if i were to allocate Dhs 2500 per month for food and transportation will it be enough? For food i don't dine out at night (prefer to cook) for the weekdays except weekends and will only eat out during breakfast and/or lunchtime. I'm not a fussy eater, could go for sandwich for morning and rice/noodles meal for lunch. As for transport. My workplace are located around the region of Abu Dhabi Mall, what is the normal working hour (morning and after work) cab fare around this area. Thanks.

A: One way taxi fare can be anything between 4 to 10 Dirhams, but it all depends on the distance, ofcourse. If going for Indian food, average cost per meal in average restaurant can be something like Dhs 7 to 15. So far (especially with the old taxis) the max. fare within the city is around 6 dirhams. For straight shifts normally the working hours are 7:30a.m to 4:30 p.m. Split shifts are normally 8 am to 1 and 4pm to 8pm. In Abu Dhabi food and transportation is not THE main concern .... the thing that causes worries is the accommodation. There's a severe shortage of accommodation.
