A: Minimum or maintaining bank balance depends really on the bank you would like to open and the type of banking services you would like to have (i.e. checking, savings, investments, time deposits, etc) rather than according to nationality (japanese, indians, pakistanis, etc.) HSBC requires a maintaining balance of Dhs. 1000 while ME bank is Dhs. 2500. Dubai bank requires 0 balance and the same with Barclays. ABN-AMRO and Standard Chartered I think requires Dhs. 1000 maintaining balance. Better - check their websites and find first hand. Goodluck !
