A: Dubai is generally hotter than Qatar, being nearer to the Equador. I'm not sure how hot it is in LA but here the temperature, as I'm writing is 41 degrees. I have the AC off but the fan is blowing next to me. It's very hot to go out during the day, although if you 'insulate' your car windows and have an AC/Fan in the car it should be okay. Cars are generally more expensive than in the USA because they are 'optimized' for the Gulf conditions and all cars include AC. That being said about the weather is only in the summer. In the winter it's really cool here. There is loads of traffic here, and I find it best to ride my bike here (environmental-friendly). Most people drive SUVs here, particularly the Toyota Land Cruiser, and this adds to congestion. Too many cockroaches show up in summer in my house. They are so annoying. The Spider Catcher, see source, seems essential in the summer not to stink the carpets. Dubai is very beautiful in terms of infrastructure, shopping centers, and greenery. Doha is catching up.
