Q: traveling to Dubai soon, looking for people who have been there before and can recommend good things to do there. are there any places there that are really good for families, as will be traveling with my wife, son and daughter. have heard it is amazing.

A: deaity, How long will you be staying here? Did u chose your hotel yet? For kids, I feel that Madinat Jumeirah and Jumeirah Beach Hotel are the ones that offfer most, however u might want to have a look here (http://www.businesshotel.in/City/dubai.htm) to find other hotels. Depending on your budget, you also might want to consider a serviced apparment, Golden Sands 3 & 10 has lots of kids staying there ( I live there, so I know...) Now coming back to your initial question: Things you should definately not miss are a Desert Safari (try to go with Arabian Adventures or Net Tours as they are the most professional companies), a Dhow Cruise (Radisson offers a nice one) which is basically a boat ride in the evening along the Creek and a visit to Mall of the Emirates with SkiDubai (http://www.skidxb.com). Should you want to ski, you might want to consider a visit do Wild Wadi as there is a nice package on offer during this summer (2008): Free entry to SkiDXB when you purchase the ticket at Wild Wadi - actually a must go! Post further details here or if you have further questions you can also email or IM me. Regards, Martin Rusteberg Edit: Dubailand is not really open yet, they have a temporary ground but with the current temperatures, I would not suggest going there - although it's great during the cooler months!
