Q: I found out that Israelis and/or people from different countries that have Israeli visa stamp on their passports wouldn't be permitted to enter the UAE. Why is that? Do Emiratis have anything against Israelites? Do Emiratis go to Israel or have any interest of going to Israel? What would the locals of UAE would feel if they are not allowed to enter Israel if they go there? I'm neither from UAE nor Israel..interested of visiting both countries though. Just curious... Thanks! Posted this question at the Israel segment. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ApicFeFG3kR4q8hkuosGyTnsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080723090052AAilLcI I hope I'm not offending anyone. Just plain curious and wanted to know how citizens of both countries think. Just plain curious and wanted to know how citizens of both countries think. To h : I have no idea about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I'm reading it now though through Wikipedia. These are some of important topics that we missed in school. I am planning to go to Dubai soon and also have plans of going to Israel some time in the future. I was worried when I found out that if you have an Israeli visa stamp...you wont be permitted to go to UAE anymore. I got so curious that I checked out visa requirements for UAE Nationals if they are to visit Israel, and you guys indeed need to get a visa. I have assumed already that it is difficult to enter Israel for whatever purpose. Thank you so much for your inputs. I agree that most of the Qs in UAE are not interesting at all. I have not learned that much but the usual 'How to live and how work is like in the UAE'=P Cheers!=D Now I know what the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. I didn't know that it was THAT. I have been a CNN Baby and have been well aware about that conflict. Just didnt think that that is also the reason why Israelis are not allowed in the UAE. Learning a lot here...=D To am : I understand that some Israelis can still get in UAE if they use a different passport. I know someone living in Dubai and he's a jew andd managed to get in there. Its a "If there's a will, there's a way" kind of thinking and its not just applicable to Israelis...but to any other race. But my point is...there really is a dispute between 2 countries (...even 2 religion) thats why this (out of many) kind of problem is still existing.

A: Jews are allowed to enter the UAE. Just foreigners having an Israeli stamp in their passport or Israeli citizen are denied entry. An Israeli stamp inside the passport can easily be avoided for people who are entiteld to receive a visa up on arrival in Israel. They can get the visa stamp on an extra AL-17 form instead inside the passport. Because Jews from all over the world are granted Israeli citizenship, many have two passports and therefore no problems to travel into Arab countries with travel restriction. Why there are restrictions? Did you ever hear about the Israeli-Palestine Conflict? About occupied Jerusalem? Etc. Etc. It's nothing personal against any Israeli Citizen, it's all for political reasons. Talking about restrictions: I have a Palestinian friend working in Ramallah and living in Jerusalem. His wife holds an Jerusalem/Israeli ID. He does not. He can not drive their car inside Israel. Coming back from Europe on an international flight to Ben Gurion Airport in Jerusalem (where he lives!) he got deported to Jordan and had to go home from there. That are restrictions! How Emiratis feel? I do not know where you are from and no offense please! Ask how UAE Nationals feel having a hard time obtaining a visit visa to countries whose citizen can obtain a visa up on arrival in the UAE! Ask how Palestinians feel not being allowed to enter their own land. Ask how Arabs feel being arrested at US airports just coming from an Arab country for "security reasons". Have to admit that your question is one of the most interesting here for a long time. Thanks for asking and a big prewelcome to the UAE. You will enjoy it! Take care. edit: here some links for you to read: http://cache.search.yahoo-ht2.akadns.net/search/cache?ei=UTF-8&p=ifamericansknew.com&fr=slv8-msgr&u=www.ifamericansknew.com/&d=ena1JS72RE5e&icp=1&.intl=us http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli-Palestinian_conflict http://www.mideastweb.org/nutshell.htm http://israelipalestinian.procon.org/ Surf the net and build your own opinion. You''ll find thousands of links regarding this subject. Do you know that Saudi Arabia and Israel officially are still at war? And the USA calls both their ally and provides weapons to both of them! edit Mimi: Palestinians are not kicked out of the UAE (not UEA!) because of their nationality. Females 18 years and older can be sponsored by their father, boys 18 years and older can not. That's regardless of nationality. http://www.gulfnews.com/uaessentials/residentsguide/family_life/10132739.html edit: are you the Mimi living in Canada of Palestinian orgin? If yes, I know that you are smart enough to check on the net with how many millions the UAE is supporting Palestine. Building schools, houses etc. The UAE just do not support Hamas financially. At least not that I would know:)). But please do not call Emaratis selfish etc. That's just not true! But that's another subject and do not belong to the asked question. Feel free to post a question regarding this!
