Q: Hi, I am planning to bring my wife and kid for a short term visit (2 months) to dubai on visit visa. Is it mandotary to submit the attested copies of marriage and birth certificates to get the visit visa for them? please advice. Thanks.Jayamani.

A: Under the new rules starting last week of July, you can apply for a short term visa (30 days, not renewable)) for Dhs 500 per person or a long term visa (90 days) for Dhs 1.000 per person. Documents required to apply for a visit visa under the new visa rules: Typing form - A copy of the sponsor's passport - A copy of the sponsored person's passport and three passport photos - Attested work contract if the sponsor is working in a private company or a salary certificate if working in government. No certificate attestation required for visit visa. Attestation is required for obtaining a residence visa only. Please be aware that your child need a passport on her/his own.
