Q: My wife went to Dubai and she as not yet changed her name to mine, is it possible for me to sponsor her even without the name change?

A: Yes. You just need to take the original marriage certificate, a copy and a certified copy (certified as a true copy at the issuing authority in your country) to your consulate in Dubai (or the UAE) and let them certify it as a true copy of the original. We have done that and it worked. My passport is also still in my maiden surname. I would however advise the wife to keep a copy of your marriage certificate in her passport till she receives the residency VISA (which will be added in her passport) stating you as her sponsor.
