Living in Dubai - Language Tutor?

Q: I will be moving to Dubai shortly and would like to get to know the language. American English and Latin American Spanish are what I know currently. How or do you have any recommendations for a Arabic Tutor for adults? I know that english is spoken but I want to show respect by learning thier native tounge as well.

A: It is highly appreciated that you as a future UAE resident want to learn Arabic. Languages schools and tutor's advertisements you'll find in the daily paper under the classified. www.gulfnes.com Before you attend any lessons and pay the high fees, please ask yourself where you will be able to communicate in Arabic. Will you work with UAE Nationals? Will you socialize with any UAE Nationals? If yes, please make sure that you be taught the UAE dialect. In case you want to be able to talk to sales persons in small stores or a cab drivers, you better learn Urdu than Arabic. In bigger stores staff talk english. Take care and prewelcome to the UAE. Take care.
